While it certainly isn’t an accurate description of the line, the two patterns do look like the borders. One that divides India and Pakistan and the other between India and Bangladesh. And India is surrounded by two versions of this line. The boundary demarcation that British colonials used to divide India and Pakistan is called the Radcliffe line. I think the main hint is in the title of the episode. We are left with yet another agonising cliffhanger. We see a loading screen before the show cuts to credits.

Sartaj then enters a password with just four second remaining. Two more unsuccessful attempts later, the clock counts down to the final few seconds leaving Sartaj with a choice between Gaithonde and his father Dilbag Singh. But his team understands there is no hope, making a run for it leaving Sartaj with three attempts to deactivate the bomb. With time running out, Sartaj realises that the pattern has something to do with the Kalgranth that he stole from Batya Abelman (Kalki Koechiln). Sartaj and his team have just five attempts to deactivate the bomb: Two of which are squandered away by a senior bomb-diffusing expert. Shahid Khan, who has already activated it with a pattern-protected password, is now dead. With the bomb being activated, the good guys have 11 minutes to save the world. The episode then paces itself really well between Gaithonde’s last moments - from where the show originally began back in season 1 - and D-Day of the nuclear blast. Turns out, Shahid Khan and Sartaj Singh are related. In the very next scene we see Sartaj’s mother going through a few photographs from her childhood, and there’s the same family again. This doesn’t go exactly as planned: the elder daughter is left behind, who turns out to be Shahid Khan’s mother. We then go back to 1947 where a Sikh family is trying to cross the border at Lahore during the partition. Titled Radcliffe, the final episode of the second season begins at Shahid Khan’s (Ranvir Shorey) residence in Pakistan, where he is talking to his mother over the phone. The show navigates effortlessly through the season, bouncing off between two timelines - Sartaj Singh and Ganesh Gaithonde - as we waited for it to converge. Packed with some powerful performances from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi and Saif Ali Khan, calling the season an emotional rollercoaster ride will be an understatement. The new season of Netflix India’s first original series released on the midnight of August 14 putting a nuclear end to our sleep.
